We want renewable energy - Let's put our voice behind it!

The Climate Change Authority are going to review our Renewable Energy Target shortly.  It is currently set at 20% by 2020.

Some of the large energy companies are arguing that we are fine, due to the fact that so many people have taken it upon themselves to install renewable energy privately in the form of solar voltaic systems.

PLEASE, let's try and show our might!  This is our chance to prove people power can create change.  These are powerful companies with money behind them.  Please sign the online petition.  The People's RET (Renewable Energy Target) Review are conducting this petition from 22 October to 31 October and will be presenting it to the Climate Change Authority in time for the review in early November.  Therefore time is short so please sign the petition NOW!

It took me about two minutes to complete and I will happily share with you that I said we needed the target to be reassessed and that I would like a target of 100%.  We live in one of the sunniest countries in the world, for goodness sake!  We should be way out in front of other countries, but we are not!

Good luck with your efforts. Here in the US it seems no one really cares about switching to renewables. It's all about clean coal (how do you make coal clean?) and natural gas. These things are going to run out. The most recent I heard is the US sits on enough natural gas to supply another 92 years so we don't have to worry. Then what?
